Stories of Place. Stories of People. Stories of Becoming.

Tyrell Anderson is a photographer, author, preservationist and speaker whose work explores the intersection of place, identity, creativity and community.

Drawing from more than two decades of creative work, industrial leadership and community-based preservation, Tyrell speaks about what happens when we document the places around us, listen to the people connected to them, and use those stories to create action.

His talks move between photography, historic preservation, community engagement, leadership and personal reinvention—often using his own journey from musician to filmmaker, photographer, preservationist and nonprofit leader as the thread connecting them.

Whether speaking to arts organizations, preservation groups, students, civic leaders or corporate audiences, his goal is simple: help people see familiar places, challenges and even themselves differently.

WHO AM I NOW?

Reinvention, identity and what happens when the thing that defined you no longer does.

In this PechaKucha presentation, Tyrell Anderson looks back at the many versions of himself—musician, filmmaker, photographer, preservationist, activist, author, engineer, husband and father—and the successes and failures that shaped each transformation.

The talk asks a deceptively simple question:

What if growth isn't about becoming someone new, but recognizing everything you've already become?
